OBESITY A PREVENTABLE CONDITION
OBESITY CAN SHORTEN YOUR LIFESPAN BY CONTRIBUTING TO AND OR EXACERBATING PREVENTABLE DISEASES.
How does one know if you are obese or overweight or grossly obese? The answer is simple, stand in front of a mirror and do a honest self examination or if you are not convinced go to your physician and request a BODY MASS INDEX EXAMINATION.
Overweight and especially obesity can contribute to illnesses, result in tiredness, one can experience difficulty in walking not to mention running or athletic ability, and an obese or overweight person does not fare well in sporting activities that require stamina and speed.
Overweight or Obesity is ascertained by dividing one's body mass by one's height.
For your health's sake gradually take your body mass to an acceptable level as ascertained by your physician. The new you will not only look good but you will increase your lifespan and your desirability as a mate.
HOW DO I LOSE EXCESS WEIGHT?
It is easy if you apply calorie control. One's food and most fluids, except pure water, contain energy which is measured in calories. If you take in more calories than what your body uses in a given period, your body will store the excess as fat. If your calorie consumption
constantly exceeds your energy requirements then you will become overweight. If you do not react positively to your mass problem then over a period of time the excess calories will result in obesity and if you are in denial about obesity, you may become grossly obese. The greater your mass above normal the greater your susceptibility to bodymass related illnesses.
To reverse overweight or obesity is a simple matter of reducing your calorie intake and when you attain your ideal mass, maintain it by calorie control and physical exercise. Physical Exercise burns calories (energy) stored in your body. Physical Exercise is essential to your overall health both mentally and physically.
Our forefathers who survived as Hunter Gatherers had to walk and run long distances to kill the animals they used for food and to gather the plants they used to eat. They were athletic because they did not eat excessive amounts of food and their walking and running burnt any excess calories that they may have obtained from their food.
Physical activity is essential to obtain and maintain good health, strength and a suitable body mass. Other essentials of healthy living are: Proper and adequate nutrition, adequate sleep and rest, exercising the mind by reading and study, avoiding liquor and tobacco products, maintaining a tranquil mind, avoiding all drugs except those prescribed by a bona fide doctor, drinking pure water such as rain water collected from a clean house or other roof and stored in a tank. As a further precaution the collected rain water must be boiled before use to kill the odd bacteria that may be deposited on the roof by a bird or dust containing bacteria deposited by the wind.
